Grapefruit: Better Weight Loss

The whole grapefruit also took a bite out of insulin resistance in folks with metabolic syndrome -- a constellation of conditions that can raise the risk for several serious health problems, including diabetes. There was once a study conducted that obese people who ate half a grapefruit before each of three daily meals shed more pounds than their counterparts did.

But of course exercise and a calorie-controlled diet remain the true cornerstones of weight loss, but if grapefruit helps, great!

Thanks for focusing on the healthful properties of a great citrus fruit. And, of course, you're absolutely right about healthy eating and physical activity as cornerstones of good health and prevention of diseases like type 2 diabetes. We write extensively about elevated blood sugar and its interactions with gum disease at http://dentistryfordiabetics.com/blog.
