Earning a Supplemental Income

Median salaries in the U.S. fell below $28,000 in 2010. For many Americans, this means that there's not enough money to make ends meet. So in order to survive and pay for basic expenses, more and more people are turning to second jobs for an extra income stream.

Here are some helpful jobs that can get you paid without having to commit too many hours of your free time:

Work as a Freelancer

The most common form of freelance work on the internet is writing; but, there are still a number of talents that can be parlayed into some freelance work. Photographers and artists often work as freelancers; they can offer valuable services to an employer who needs work done, but doesn't want to hire additional staff.

Start Your Own Business

If you're in a financial pinch, www.mobiloans.com can give you emergency cash. However, a good long-term plan is to use your knowledge to start a small business. Many people have a special talent or hobby which can be used as a drive to venture out in a business. For instance, if you are musically inclined, you can use your skills to mentor a kid who loves music. You can give lessons, charging a competitive hourly fee. And who knows, if you have done great, your music apprentice will spread the word and you might have to expand into a musical school in no time.

Another example is the thousands of people who have started a side career on eBay. You can begin by selling things around your house or garage that you no longer need, such as old books. If you have an enhanced knowledge or specialty in a particular item, you could open a buy-and-sell operation on eBay and you’ll never notice how cash flows in an instant.

Write Online Reviews

The yellow pages are out and online reviews are in. However, did you know there are many companies willing to pay people to write positive reviews for them? Online feedback can make or break the reputation of a restaurant, retailer, or service provider. Rather than advertise themselves through traditional media (which would cost them a lot of money), they opt for "word-of-mouth," paying you to write a fresh blurb about the company. It's not all that different from an actor being paid to peddle a product on a TV commercial.

During this economic meltdown, a side job that backs you up financially has become a necessity. It’s high time that you discover your potentials and use them to launch your side career.

Merry Christmas

From my Family to yours...
A blessed Christmas to all of you!

God Bless everyone!!!

Cancelled Pool Party

After the tragic occurrence that happened over the weekend, we decided not to pursue the Pool Christmas Party that we planned for our division. We've come up with an agreement that we wanted to give the foods intended for the party to be given to those who were greatly affected and to those who need it most. Aside from that, their pool was damaged due to the raging flash flood that hit our city at that time that is why they are ongoing of renovating their pool using the raypak boilers and heaters. I guess it would take that long that is why we cancelled the reservation as early as now.

Typhoon Sendong (Washi)

Typhoon Sendong (Washi): an unforgettable tragedy...

December 17, 2011 at exactly 12 midnight a catastrophic happened in the city of Cagayan de Oro ~in just a split of seconds... flash flood came and it now turned out to be devastated areas. :(

It’s so sad seeing those thousands of families grieving for their loss of loved ones and those evacuees who are now homeless. My heart cries just like them who are directly affected of the said storm because I know lots of people who are victims of it- my friends, office mates, church mates and even my own direct families as well. Upon seeing the aftermath of the said typhoon, houses were totally wrecked, and most of those houses built along the river banks were being washed out and their areas turned to be a “desert” one. :(

Seeing those pictures uploaded by my friends makes me want to cry for God’s goodness of saving us from that kind of adversity. I can see dining room being crashed down, their kitchen being washed out and even their bathrooms like their clawfoot bathtub were full of mud. Nothing really escaped from that tragic event, indeed it was really an unforgettable moments among us Kagay-anons.

To all of us: just keep our hopes and faith going. God Bless us all!

Water & Current Crisis

After the unforgettable heartbreaking news that happened and experienced here in our city that was brought by the Typhoon Sendong (Washi), another calamity arises: the Water and Current crisis!

It would be so okay if current (electricity) will be off rather than having no water at all. Our water provider’s reservoir was being hit by the typhoon and it was totally damage and that’s the major cause of having a water crisis here in the whole city of Cagayan de Oro. They say that it will be fixed within a month, but hey we can’t live without the water.

You can see lines of pails, gallons and drums along the highway just to wait for the fire truck to arrive. Good for those households who have their own water pumps/coolant pumps because their time will not be wasted just to wait for the free water to come. Whew! Too bad commercial water prices are now starting to increase. Hope to have our water supply by next week.

On Transit Christmas Gifts...

That pic above? Not exactly! Actually that is just one of my fave collections from michael kors watches that I saw online. I really like it because it's so chic, classic as well as luxurious to look at. But hey, as of now I'll just wait for the watch that my sister sent to me last week, aside from the fact that the cost is quite expensive~ my budget is already allotted to some stuffs other than this. :) Actually, so happy to know that I have a watch on the box as one of my Christmas gifts that are now on transit together with my BB phone. Whew! So blessed to have a sister like her because she never failed to send us some presents every now and then especially during seasons like these. :)

Thanks much sistah. Luv yah....

Cyber Son

Oh no! I am not referring to my son but to my friend’s son. My office mate and a friend as well told me that her son wanted her to buy him a tablet as her birthday gift for him this month of December. She was so shocked that her son was only 6 years old and yet he asked for gadgets as if he’s that old enough. Actually her son was just influenced by his teacher because tablet is what they’re using in school. Guess what? Her cyber son even asked his dad about his request and that his wish will be granted so soon because his dad will be giving him not just a tablet but an ipod touch 32g as well for his mom.
