Traveling With Your Pets; It’s Not Always a Walk in the Park

The festive period is all about getting to see family and friends, even the ones that live far away. It’s a great thing to travel and see the loved ones that you've been missing all year, but what about your furrier loved ones at home?

Pet owners always have to face the difficult task of figuring out what to do with their four-legged best friends when they need to take a few days off for holiday celebrations. My Pawson, and their guidance on dog friendly hotels can help you narrow down the hotels in your area that gladly accept pets, but there can be even more to consider.

Flying

A recent article in USA Today details the perils you should consider when planning to fly anywhere with a pet. Of course many airlines have policies allowing pets to fly on the plane, but it can turn into a complicated issue depending on the breed and size of your particular animal. Humane Associations often advise that puppies and sick animals should not be flying at all. If your pet has reached a certain age and already has health issues, it just might not be worth it to take them to your holiday party far away. Keep their best interest in mind when trying to decide if it’s appropriate for them to fly.

Just like for people, takeoffs and landings can be particularly scary for your pets. When booking flights, make sure to try and book direct, non-stop flights to minimize the number of times your pet will be experiencing this unnerving part of flight and the amount of time you will have to wait in an airport for a connection.

Driving

Of course many people won’t be taking to the skies with their pets in tow, but rather to the roads. This mode of travel has its own, perhaps worse perils for your comfort. There is much less danger and stress for a dog in a car than being in the luggage hold of a plane, but that doesn't mean they will handle it any better. Don’t assume that your dog will make a good passenger on a long road trip if they've only ever made quick jaunts to the vet.

The motion and length of a car ride can make pets agitated and nervous. Be prepared to stop when they need to, have snacks and water ready, and try to keep them from distracting you. If you haven’t already, this could be the perfect opportunity to invest in a pet carrier that will keep them safely in the back of the car and out of your way. Even if your pet is uncomfortable, the most important thing is keeping your own eyes on the road.

Alternatives

In your community, there are undoubtedly kenneling services that will put your pets up for you while your away. Be sure and check reviews and try to find someone who has had a positive experience before making a final decision as these businesses can expose your pet to illness and unsanitary conditions. If you’re still not sure about what to do with your pet while your traveling, do a little more research with articles like this one and consult with fellow pet owners to find out the best way to get your whole family safely to your holiday celebrations.

Creating Your Ideal Home Theatre System

LG DH4430P 330W 5.1 TallBoy DVD Home Cinema / Theatre SystemA home theatre systems is a great addition to any home and can be enjoyed by all members of the family. The most ideal home theatre system that perfectly blends style and function is a wise choice for movie aficionados of all ages. Here are a few tips to get you started.
Selecting Your Television

This will be the main focal point of your home entertainment system, so you will want to select a high quality television. You will probably have a flat screen television in your home already that you can use, but if not, this is the perfect excuse to go out and buy a top of the range HDTV. Look for a television that has a number of modern features such as Wi-Fi connectivity and built in internet streaming.

Speakers
Speakers come in all shapes and sizes and you can choose the ones that perfectly fit the dimensions of your room. As long as you choose high quality speakers and position them carefully to create a surround sound effect, the size and shape of the speakers does not really matter too much.
Receiver
This is another essential element of your brand new entertainment system, as the receiver manages the audio and video effects to make your home theatre system run smoothly. When it comes to selecting the right receiver, it is important to budget first, as they can be expensive. Be realistic about the functions you need the receiver to perform so that you can avoid expensive receivers that offer a wide range of options that you simply do not need.
Cables
Even if you already have plenty of cables, leads and plugs, it is always good to have a few spares as a backup. These items can be purchased fairly cheaply, so it is a good idea to go for the best and make sure that you replace them fairly regularly to make sure that all of your devices are fully functioning at all times.
Now that you have got everything you need, you are ready to put it all together. The great thing about creating a home entertainment system is that you can design it to your own specifications. You have the chance to really let your imagination run wild and design something that you will be able to use for many years to come. The only real limits are your budget and your imagination.

Product Review: pH Care V-Zone Bikini Shaver and Trimmer

Yeah I do believe that there is no exception for us ladies to make feminine hygiene as our priority! As a matter of fact, I myself do practice a good personal hygiene because it makes me feel good and confident about myself. But how? By keeping my intimate (bikini) area neat and properly groom, but sad to say that I just settled using the improper shaver and trimmer.

Good thing Unilab introduces me to their new product called Vzone® by pH Care®!

Did you know that trimming and shaving the bikini area help reduce unwanted odor? Try new Vzone® by pH Care®, a line of intimate grooming essentials specifically designed for your delicate bikini area to keep your intimate area neat and odor-free.

Vzone® by pH Care® Bikini Shaver
 • Easy grip handle design for better control
• Mini-blade, only 5/8” wide for delicate bikini areas
• Comb design with protective skin guard to minimize irritation
• With soothing Aloe Vera moisture strips

Here's how to use:Trim hair to about half an inch long ideally with Vzone® by pH Care® Bikini Trimmer. Wet the bikini area with warm water. Lather with a mild gentle feminine wash like pH Care. Shave with long, slow, even strokes in the direction of hair growth. Make sure not to press too hard to avoid cuts. use as few strokes as possible. Rinse bikini shaver in between strokes if it becomes clogged. Rinse and gently pat bikini area with a soft towel.

caution: Keep out of reach of children. Dispose properly.warning: In case of any irritation or cuts, discontinue use and consult a doctor. Rinse thoroughly with clear, running water. Don't shave skin that is already irritated. You may experience itchiness when hair grows back on the shaved area especially for the first time.storage: Wash and dry every after use. materials: Stainless steel, Plastic

Vzone® Trimmer and Razor are available in Mercury Drugstore, Watsons, 7-Eleven and Rustans and Robinsons ** Supermarkets for only P49 * (Trimmer) and P99* (Shavers, 3 pcs).

*Suggested Retail Price
**Only Vzone by pH Care Trimmer is available

My Insights:

The moment I had those grooming essentials, I automatically used it and so true it was really proven and tested by me that it really differs if you will be using the right shaver and trimmer. As to my experience before with the other regular shaver and a scissor, I got some cuts sometimes because it is just too big for my delicate area. Now that I have them, I can say that I am free from any cuts and that the cleanliness of the area has a big difference using my old stuffs. Aside from that I am now more confident and odor-free since I am using it daily together with the ph Care feminine wash!

Oh by the way, what I like most with these grooming stuffs is that I can bring it along with me wherever I go (travel-friendly), it's so girly (kikay) in color and the best thing is that it's just affordable in the pocket~ there's no need for me to opt for a Brazilian waxing!..:)

Tonkatsu by Terazawa in Cagayan de Oro

I would like to welcome Tonkatzu by Terazawa here in the City of Golden friendship, another newly opened restaurant of the Bistro-Group added to TGIF and Italiani's! Actually, I am not a Japanese food lover but I tell you after trying their Katsu meals I'm now beginning to add the Japanese menu on my lists.
Here is a serving of tasty, tender pork cutlets fried to perfection, served with pickled vegetables, shredded cabbage, miso soup and unlimited rice is an irresistible meal anytime of the day. Yes you read it right, unlimited rice and this delightful fare one can enjoy only at Tonkatsu by Terazawa, the first Philippine franchise of the Japan-based chain brought to the country by the Bistro Group.

Here's how to enjoy your Tonkatsu experience:

1. For the appetizing starters you can have the Fried Chicken Wings, the Chasoba Salad and the Pork Karaage. Here are the ones we've tasted below, but to add taste for the Pork Karaage you can squeeze the lemon on top of it.

2. Next thing is to choose the main dish/course, they have IBERICO KATSU...
- this Katsu meal is made of the finest black Iberico Pork with a delicate, nutty, meaty, melt-in-in-your-mouth marbling. It is also known as the Pata Negra, the Iberian pigs of south and Southwest areas of Spain.

Another main course to choose from is the KUROBUTA KATSU...
- it is a  dubbed angus of pork, a meat from the original strains of Bekrshire hogs from Japan. It is packed with juiciness and is rich in flavor from the meat's excellent marbling. It is considered as the Katsu's crowning glory!

Still, you can choose aside from the two above mentioned Katsu's are the Rosu Katsu sets (deep-fried pork loin sets) and the Hire Katsu (deep-fried pork fillet sets). Another must try is the Jumbo Ebifurai, an imperial prawns that are simply deep-fried to achieve the natural fresh taste of the prawns.

Here's a good catch, all of the Katsu sets are served with refillable servings of Japanes rice, shredded cabbage and a bowl of hot Tonjiru, a special miso soup flavored with pork.

Here's how to enjoy your dish:
  • Grind the sesame seeds straight onto the Tonkatsu to bring the aroma and flavor of the pork.
  • Dip the Tonkatsu in the house blended Tonkatsu sauce with a pinch of Japanese salt for added taste.
  • Include a good amount of the shredded cabbage in between bites to cleanse your palate.
But before you'll end your Tonkatsu experience, don't forget this sweet ending bestselling dessert called the Frozen Grean Tea. A heavenly slice of frozen, fluffy meringue roll with a hint of green tea! Indeed, it really taste like heaven.

So, I guess it's high time for you to try Tonkatsu by Chef Akinori Terazawa- a Japanese restaurateur. The restaurant is located at the ground floor of Centrio Mall, besides Italianis.

For more details, please feel free to check their FB page: https://www.facebook.com/TonkatsuByTerazawa. You can follow them also in Twitter and Instagram @tonkatsuph!

Indeed, I am a Proud Kagay-anon!

Since my bedroom hettich drawer slides is kinda' broken, I planned to change it something like this, a dresser and a TV stand at the same time. Hoping to realize this wish before the year ends.

We Love Outdoors

I am an outdoor person.  I love to travel, explore new places and enjoy adventure moments.  Could this be genetic as everyone in the family is like me? Or this could probably be because we grew up traveling to the countryside often during long weekends and holidays to reunite with grandparents and relatives.  The excitement to see them starts from our city home and goes all the way to the province and up until we've grown up and discovered more places to go. In fact, each year wouldn't be complete without the entire family traveling, exploring new spaces.  We have done quite a lot already like discovering breathtaking waterfalls, fantastic lakes, marvelous rivers, spectacular hills, and amazing oceans and marine parks.  We all enjoy adventures: car touring, bike riding, camping, picnicking and even bush-walking.  All these we love to do after long weeks of hitting targets and accomplishing tasks.  We most love exploring when siblings come home from overseas.  We hook up and party with nature, enjoy each other’s company like we could recharge a brother’s vigor and top up a sister’s strength.

7-Day Scotland HikingBecause we love doing what we do, we certainly prepare for every season of the year. We plan ahead, lookout for discount flights and hotel promos, and gear up.  We arrange for outdoor adventure sports gears.  Like when we planned for touring the spectacular chocolate hills, we became like watchmen for clearance hiking shoes from Garmont, trousers, trekker mats and hydration packs.

We had just our waterfall escapade during the Easter break.  The Philippine’s Tinuy-an Falls is categorically breathtaking.  It was worth gearing up, both us (people) and our lovely car.  Nothing is more enjoyable than a very comfortable trip and for us comfort includes putting on the right suits and bringing the right packs. We did bring our swimming suits, rented life jackets and buoys, ensured our slippery-safe sandals, tees and sweatshirts, and shorts.  Hubby was ever ready with his tools, lights, emergency kits as well.

My family of course wished to explore the world further.  Although we have tried water rafting and kayaking already, still I wish to try the packages of The Clymb on rafting and kayaking.  Rafting in class IV-V rapids sounds really challenging and I could also imagine kayaking in between rising cliffs, peculiar geologic formations and captivating sea caves of Isla Espiritu Santo, Baja.  I also wish to try waterfall rappelling in New Hampshire.  Oh God, I have wished a lot now.  May I add on that wish list a reversible Mamala top and Sunamee bottoms from Patagonia?

I don’t want to sound religious here but God’s creation is really magnificent and awesome that I could only wish I have all the resources and energy to climb summits, cruise from continent to continent, discover creatures in Africa, see unique cultures in Asia, Pacific and Oceania, or at least behold the Seven Wonders of the World.
