Help Others. Help Yourself.

There is a two-word phrase that always put a smile on my face whenever I hear it: be kind. You hear the phrase at the end of every episode of Ellen; it is certainly so much more than just a phrase. Being kind to others and helping them with their problems is always great, especially since you’re also helping yourself in the process.

Aside from the immense happiness that comes from seeing the smile on other people’s faces after you help them, there are actually other ways helping others is equal to helping yourself. We are going to take a closer look at them in this article.

Good Karma

Whether you believe in karma or not, there is a simple equation that makes helping others well worth the efforts. The more people you help, the more people you will have assisting you when it’s your turn to need help. Helping others with their problems is a great way to bond and improve the community as a whole, too.
It always starts with a single person in need. Once you’re done helping that person, you will feel so good that you’ll want to help another immediately; and another one after that. Before you know it, you’re actually affecting the lives of hundreds of people around you.

The best way to start is by helping those closest to you. Close friends or relatives who are struggling with problems are the easiest to reach out to. Offer your assistance and be willing to give them space if they don’t need your help just yet. You will get the ball rolling in no time.

It Can Turn into a Career

There is actually an increasing demand for professional social workers, counselors and community leaders today. The demand for counseling for substance abuse, for instance, has been increasing steadily. As more people try to stop depending on drugs, more qualified counselors are needed to assist them every step of the way.

Universities such as Rutgers Online have been offering counseling degrees for a few years now. You can, for instance, take one of the best substance abuse programs and acquire a degree in social work and substance abuse. The courses are designed to help you acquire the skills and knowledge needed to work effectively as a counselor, preparing you for a bright career ahead.

Make a Difference

It may seem like you’re helping just a handful of people, but you’re actually affecting change on a bigger scale. The students you help as a school counselor, for instance, will soon be the professionals and business owners helping to drive the economy. They may even hire hundreds of other people and affect more change in the process. To make it even better, it all starts with you helping them with the problems of their teenage years.
The financial rewards are lucrative, but the best rewards you can get from helping others is the priceless smile on their faces. This, along with the previous things we have covered in this article, is more than enough reasons to start looking for opportunities to be kind.

Saddest Moment

So true that God allows some things for some reasons. Yeah, last month was a month of grieving for us aside from the fact the my sister-in-law's shocking death, I had my miscarriage too. I don't know what really happened that after I had my spotting I went to see for my ObGyne but so shocked to know and hear the truth that the 2 months embryo inside was not there already. My doctor told me that if ever we were able to save the baby, there's a possibility that he/she will have some abnormalities. Well, everything happened for a reason and I'm still thankful to God for allowing such things.

Anyway, here are some of my pix taken while I was confined last August 4-5, 2010 @ Madonna and Child Hospital.

From ER to Operating Room......

@ the recovery room after my 30 minute D&C Operation...

Ouch! It is so painful to know that after the operation, the baby's not there at your side...:(
Anyway, life has to move on.

Life's Uncertainty

Life's one certainty its sheer uncertainty. As scripture reminds us, we "do not know what will happen tomorrow" (James 4:14).

Sometimes the fulfillment of our dreams can turn into nightmares. This only reminds us that not only of the uncertainty of life but also of the need to align our desires with God's will. Experiences teaches us that if we allow presumption to run our lives, the fulfillment of our own compulsive dreams may turn to dust and ashes.

All we have to do is to submit our plans to God's will so that we can enjoy His peace in the midst of life's uncertainty. Thank you Lord for allowing such things to happen...truly everything happens for a reason...

Having No Hopes at All

I was really saddened when I heard about my cousins news that his cousin at her mother’ side committed suicide because of broken hearted. What shocking news to hear, it seems that there are no other girls around that can offer a love for him aside from the woman who broke his heart.I asked my self why and what made him decide to drink one bottle of pesticides for that issue alone. How pitiful to know people do such crazy things that they can not even think that there is God who is the source of all Hopes. Maybe they just can not cope up with their emotions that what they think on what they will do is the best solution that they can have as of the moment. Good thing that he was immediately rushed to the nearest hospital and was under observation for almost a month. As a result, finding your life purpose was his realization after all he had experienced!

Life in a Modern Hut

We celebrated our halloween weekends in our little hometown of Misamis Occidental last November 1 & 2 this year. Living in a province is very different from the city- no rushing hours, nice place to meditate the word of God for it's peaceful sourroundings (you can only hear the chirping birds in the trees), the cool and clean breeze that you take in. Whew! So relaxing is the place! We experienced relaxation and at the same time had fun with my other cousins in the little modern nipa hut of my cousin Herbert. He has a little pond wherein we can have some fishing like bangus and tilapia and can go on boating too. He also has prawns in there. The food was indeed so delicious and we were all having fun being in there. Hope we could visit him again next summer. Hope we can have one here in the city (lol).

The Principles of Abundant Living

Here are the list of verses to remind us always on how God wanted His children to live a life of abundance. For me to be reminded of these things, I placed it in my table top (in our office) .

Lord, never again will I confess that I am a failure for “ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians. 4:13)

I will never exhibit frustration or apprehensiveness for I am promised “The peace of God passeth all understanding.”(Philippians 4:7)

I will never admit to be in lack of anything for “My God shall supply all my needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians. 4:19)

I will never again agree to bondage for “Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”
(2 Corinthians 3:17)

I refuse to submit to fear for “God hath not given me the spirit of fear; but of power and love and of sound mind. (2 Timothy 1:7)

I will never express self-condemnation for “There is no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8: 1)

I will not assure frailty or weakness for “The Lord is the strength of my life.” (Psalms 27:1)

I will never display discontentment for “I have learned for whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.” (Philippians 4:11)

I will never yield to the grim circumstances of life for “Greater is He that is in me than He that is in the world.” (I John 4:4)

I will never have feelings of unworthiness for “I am His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works.” (Ephesians 2:10)

I will never bow in defeat for “God always causeth me to triumph in Christ” (2 Corinthians 2:1 4)

I will never be intimidated by opposition for “If God is with us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31)

I will never promenade my illnesses for “Jesus himself took my infirmities, and bare my sickness.” (Matthew 8:17)

I will never feel insecure for “The Lord shall be my confidence and shall keep my foot from being taken.” (Proverbs 3:26)

I refuse to worry for I am “Casting all my cares upon Him, for He cares for me.” (1 Peter 5:7)

I will never admit that the troubles of life are too great, for the Lord says “In the world ye shall have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I shall overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

...God always wanted us to experience a supernatural abundance not just on the financial matters but in all aspects of our lives...Be blessed by His words.

My Unending Joy

Continue to enjoy the day by day simple things of Life-- the laughter of my daughter, the love of my husband, the thrill of a new adventure in Christ. I really enjoy the wonder of God's presence, the sweetness of our communion, the excitement of sharing God with my friends. I live each moment in God's glory.

Life is not at all happy moments, but if we know the secrets of God's presence, we can be joyful in every circumstance and spread that unending joy to others. Life will be full and abundant and rich when we follow Him, when we live in His freedom and trust Him. i believe in God's promises that Life is more abundant and free.

Missing you!

The other night, when we were about to take our sLeep my baby was so irritable that she just keep on crying having no hint at all why she felt like that. I tried to pLay with her but she's not on her mood. I tried to gave her milk but she refused. What happened? I remembered, just that afternoon my younger sis flew to Dubai to be with my elder sis to earn for a living. Maybe, my baby was just missing her Tita

that much since my sis was the one who took care of her since birth for the reason that I am a working mom. I missed her terribly that night that I was moved to tears even my husband asked what happend to me why I was crying hard. I said to him, nothing to worry it's just that I feel like missing her and maybe it was a good exercise for the heart too. Well, that's what life is all about... they have to move on for their own good. What we can gave to them is just our Prayer for their safety, good health and success for their God-willing plans. We miss you guys a lot!

Sold OUT!

Last two years ago, my husband and I were planning to purchase our own house and lot for us to save money since we were renting a house for nothing. As we were strolling around the subdivision, we found a vacant house & lot with the tag on the gate “House & Lot for Sale” with contact # on it. The place was indeed a good place to live in since it was a just 2 blocks away from my parent’s house. I see to it it’s near with my mom for the reason that she can easily over see my daughter as she grows up since I’m a working mom. As I texted the contact person, I found out that the owner of the house was my friend’s father. That’s good; I can make or ask for a certain discount! They sold it for P 450,000.00, since I’m a friend of him they gave me a discount of 50,000. Not bad at all..But the question was, where shall we get that amount of money?...hhhmmm…LOAN? for how many years? 30? What we did, we handed it over to God, and lift it up to Him. We pray for it over and over…God-willing, He will do something for the house- it’s either the price would go down or send us that exact amount of money (we believe that our God is the God of all possibilities).

As we waited for God’s answer, we lost contact with the person until such time, it was indeed an answered prayer. The price did already lower down to P 290,000.00. See? Imagine how God works. I told my husband regarding this matter. We come up with the decision that we will buy the house and lot and made a deal with my “M’s” friend just this Friday. I thought the deal was already made close, but it was not. I just found out this morning that the house & lot was already sold to somebody yesterday. I felt so depressed. I immediately called and informed my husband. I told him, “WHY? Was this really the will of God that we can’t buy it and since we believed it was an answered prayer?” He just then answered me with this simple statement: Don’t worry honey, God has a greater plan for us..He has already prepared a much better house and lot or if not a MANSION that awaits for us in heaven…and that’s for REAL!”
