My Nephew's Disease

Just yesterday as I was reading my cousin’s post, I was so shocked when I read that my nephew was suspected to have HFMD (Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease). Oh my, where in the world he got it? He was just suffering high fever for days and rashes on his upper mouth, palms and other parts of his body. The doctor said that there’s still no specific treatment for HFMD but still he prescribed an antiviral syrup which is commonly used to treat chicken pox, mumps, influenza A and etc. This medicine also is being used to help individuals suffering from AIDS related complex. As if that his disease has passed the STD tests that’s why he was given such med.

Speaking of this kind of test, it is now easy for people and their partner to get tested for STD so quickly, conveniently and privately! In this matter, you will not be embarrassed nor judged by others because it is done privately, it’s between you and the professional who will know that you got tested.

So much for that, thank God that my cousin’s son is quite okay now.

Worry Free Hemorrhoids Experience

It was summer night when my aunt woke up early in the morning feeling anxious about something that really bothers her most. She never even expected that it will happen since this has been really a problem that she kept on ignoring and hoping that it will just disappear. But the thought of not facing it brought her into a worst scenario where she really had to tell her husband to ask for support and to help her with this somewhat embarrassing and painful experience with her hemorrhoids. She doesn’t really have any idea about the hemorrhoids treatments and complications that could possibly happen to her. Now that she couldn’t suppress her anxiety with this, she is now determine to do whatever it takes to be treated and to be well as soon as possible. Although it’s not that that life threatening but for her it’s really an issue since it really affects her job, family and of course her health. She told her husband everything, good thing that my uncle was really there to comfort and supports her all the way. She really felt at ease after she called up her Doctor and scheduled her for a check-up. Looking back to the times that she ignored her hemorrhoids, she had this regret that until now it reminds her of the pain that she felt before.

She tried to surf the internet after she had her check-up just to know more about this type of disease such as the causes of hemorrhoids, treatments, symptoms and all. In one way or another doing some research and interventions could really help her solve her problem. Aside from soft diet she also had to eat high fiber diet and to prepare for a warm wet towel and press it against her hemorrhoids for about 3 to 5 minutes. Another thing is, she can also take over-the-counter laxatives and have less physical exertion.

By the way, Hemorrhoids are described as masses or clumps of tissue within the anal canal that contain blood vessels and the surrounding, supporting tissue made up of muscle and elastic fibers. The anal canal is located particularly four centimeters through which stool passes as it goes from the rectum to the outside world while the anus is the opening of the anal canal to the outside world.

Most of the people including me think hemorrhoids are abnormal, it is not! They are present in everyone. It is only when the hemorrhoidal cushions enlarge that hemorrhoids can cause problems and be considered abnormal or a disease.

As I have mentioned, the treatment of this disease is so simple. It is believed generally that constipation and straining to have bowel movements promote hemorrhoids and that hard stools can traumatize existing hemorrhoids. It is recommended, therefore, that individuals with hemorrhoids soften their stools by increasing the fiber in their diets. But as to my Aunts case, it is already bothering her that much that is why she decided to undergo operations. Thanks God that it turned out to be a successful one and she is now enjoying her worry free and a comfy self than before.

Pain in my Lower Left Abdomen

I have been feeling this pain in my lower left abdomen since last week.To avoid entertaining negative thoughts, I pray to God for the complete healing and then I surf it over the net and their you go....

Lower left abdominal pain is pain experienced to the left of an imaginary line drawn from the level of the umbilicus, vertically down to just under the waist line.

Structures in this part of the abdomen that could cause lower left abdominal pain include:

• Part of the Descending Large bowel

• The sigmoid Colon

• The lower pole of the left kidney

• The left ureter

• Part of the urinary bladder

• The left ovary and tube in women

• Blood vessels and nerves on the lower part of the left abdomen

• Muscles, and skin covering the left side of the abdominal wall

Thus, any disease affecting these structures and organs could potentially cause lower left abdominal pain.Whatever it is, I just put my TRUST in God that what I am feeling right now is just a minor pain that will soon be gone! But still I have to see my Ob Gynecologist this coming weekends for a check-up. I will post the result anytime next week, so keep posted!

AAA Symptoms

Last Thursday evening the father-in-law of my Tita (auntie) was rushed to the Emergency Room because he can not bear the pain in his stomach. Luckily he was able to arrive at the hospital since he was being traveled for almost 5 hours from their province going here in our city. After the thorough check-up of what was really the cause, he was then diagnosed having an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA). The doctor told his family that he is already a walking time bomb, anytime of the day he will rupture. It is so sad to know about his situation since his family does not know what his disease was all about. I volunteered to do some research since it is very helpful if you will learn about disease symptoms. Upon knowing, they were so shock that what their father was feeling before was already the symptoms of his disease that he is been suffering now.
