Extra Curricular Activities

Getting involved is a fun way to try new things, meet people, and move away from the TV. Actually, our daughter asked me to enroll her and get involve in Music after her classes in school. She wanted to learn the piano and have a voice lesson as well.Good thing for her that she has a drive in this area but got one problem since the piano that we have is dysfunctional already and needs to be replaced the soonest. I am considering canvassing some keyboards and from guitar center since they offer great and big deals also. Hoping I can get one for her. 

So how about you? Does your kids participates in some other extra-curricular activities in school? If not yert, then have them enjoy even just one activity because it really help them in other ways. Let them enjoy while they learn at the same time.

What's the Right Age for my Kids to Begin in Music Lesson?

God this excerpt from an article: The important question then is not when to start lessons, but what is the goal of music lessons for young children? For instance, very young children are not exposed to instruments in order to master them, but to gain experience and learn to develop meaningful relationships with music at a young age. If this is your goal, then the “lessons” can and should start soon after birth and certainly within the child’s first year.

 So true, situations must be based on your child's interest in music not of the parents frustrations. :) Actually, I am so excited for my 'lil boy because at an early age of two he is so inclined with music. Now, he is always asking me to buy a drum set for him but I guess he's just too young to have those expensive one that is why we will be planning to give him a present this Christmas!

As to my 'lil girl's music inclination, she is into guitars and that she wanted me to buy one for her. Now, hubby and I were canvassing for a gibson j-45 for sale so that we could grant her wish too this Holiday season. Hope they have a pink or a girly one suited for her. :)

Well, I can't wait for our two kiddos to have their own recital when time comes!

Let's Rock and Roll

Who wants to own something like this?

Then you are a certified "rockista" (person who loves rock music)! Obviously you wanted rock n roll music, right? Just an information, electric guitars were being invented way back in 1931 and was popularized during the rock n roll days of 1950s and 1960s. But don't you know that the first electric guitars were used in jazz were hollow archtop acoustic guitar bodies with electromagnetic transducers?  So it only entails that electric guitars are not solely for rock musics. :)

But guess what, I am dying to learn how to play it so that hubby could give me even just one of the guitars from gretsch electromatic at guitar center! Yay can't wait....
